Rozic Endorses Vallone for Halloran's Council Seat

State assemblywoman throws weight behind Flushing attorney in his bid for City Council.

State Assemblywoman Nily Rozic, D-Fresh Meadows, has endorsed Flushing attorney Paul Vallone in the race for Councilman Dan Halloran’s seat.

Vallone, a Democrat, picked up the nod from the assemblywoman earlier this week in his bid for the northeast Queens seat.

“Paul has been a neighborhood leader with the experience, enthusiasm and integrity to serve our schools, parks, middle class and working families,” Rozic said. “From his work in the community, I know he will be a great partner in our fight for women’s rights, quality healthcare, housing for seniors and expanded transportation for northeast Queens.”

Vallone, who bested four Democratic rivals in the Sept. 10 primary, will face off against Republican Dennis Saffran, a Douglaston attorney, in the Nov. 5 general election.

Halloran’s District 19 seat covers Bayside, Little Neck, Douglaston, Whitestone, College Point and a sliver of Flushing.
