Primary Election Guide for Northeast Queens

Find out who's running and where to vote in Bayside, Douglaston and Little Neck.

On Sept. 13, residents across the five boroughs will be able to cast their vote in the city’s primary election.

The only primary for Bayside, Douglaston and Little Neck will be to determine who will run on the Democratic line for the state Assembly’s 25th District.

Chairman Jerry Iannece and Nily Rozic, the former chief of staff to Assemblyman Brian Kavanagh, D-Manhattan, are the two contenders.

This summer, Patch interviewed both and in profiles during which they discussed the issues they believed were most important for the district.

Polling sites in northeast Queens include:

32-24 Corporal Kennedy St. in Bayside

Benjamin N. Cardozo High School

57-00 223rd St. in Bayside

211-45 46th Road in Bayside

40-20 235th St. in Douglaston

41-77 Little Neck Parkway in Little Neck

But voters should remember they can only vote at their designated polling site, which is based on their home address. To find out where to vote, visit the city’s Board of Elections’ polling site locator.

The local, fresh fruit and vegetable market was a worthwhile addition to Douglaston. Obviously, itRead More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.

Unfortunately, according to the Douglas Manor Association, the fresh fruit and vegetable market willRead More NOT return this year. No specific reason was given other than this was at the initiative of the merchants or the market's organizers. And this..., just as we were beginning to enjoy the Long Island wines and the $34 per pound skirt steak, ordered two months in advance.
