No Foul Play Suspected In Breitbart Death, Says Spokesman

The journalist who felled former Cong. Anthony Weiner cared about District 9, says his attorney and editor.

Foul play is not suspected in the death of Andrew Breitbart, said a close colleague.

The conservative journalist whose initial story on Anthony Weiner’s lurid Twitter photos , died on Wednesday night of natural causes, according to his website, bigjournalism.com. He was 43 years old.

“We think it was just one of those—no one suspects foul play,” said Joel Pollack, the editor-in-chief and in-house counsel at Breitbart.com told Patch.

Breitbart's father-in-law, Orson Bean, told The LA Times that the blogger was found collapsed near his house in Los Angeles, and that the cause of death appears to have been a heart attack. Bean also told the paper that no one will know until an autopsy is done. The LA County Coroner's Office is reportedly investigating.

Many Breitbart fans expressed grief, and some skepticism that Brietbart died of natural causes in the comments section of biggovernment.com.

Perhaps Breitbart’s most famous moment in the Weiner controversy was the day he took over the felled congressman’s own press conference, shaming the media for glossing over his story when it was first published.

Breitbart more or less forced Weiner’s hand during the controversy, releasing increasingly revealing photos to responses of “no comment” from Weiner’s office,

Pollack said he wanted Patch readers to know that Breitbart cared about District 9, which encompasses parts of Brooklyn, Forest Hills, Central Queens, the Rockaways and Bayside Hills.

“It was important to America,” said Pollack, also saying that Breitbart felt the District proved that “there’s nothing inevitable in American politics.”
