New Ticketing Machine to Come to Little Neck LIRR Station

A ticketing machine will be added to the north side of the station platform to increase safety.

The Metropolitan Transit Authority will soon install an additional ticketing machine on the north side of the Long Island Railroad station in Little Neck, in order to prevent riders from crossing the tracks unsafely.

Sen. Tony Avella (D-Bayside) pushed for the ticketing machine after noticing that people were crossing the tracks to get to the machine on the south side platform, even when the gates were down.

The ticketing machine will be added in February as part of a larger station renovation project, which will include new sidewalks and waiting shelters.
