Meng to Hold Iran Forum in Queens

U.S. Rep. Grace Meng, D-Flushing, will host an upcoming forum to discuss Iran’s nuclear program in Forest Hills.

The congresswoman, who sits on the House’s Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa, said the forum – “Halting Iran’s Nuclear Program” – would allow local residents to talk about the relationship between the Islamic Republic and the United States.

Speakers at the event will include Mark Wallace, a former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and chief executive officer of United Against Nuclear Iran, and David Ibsen, a former official at the U.S. State Department.

“Queens residents, Americans and people around the world are watching the new U.S.-Iran situation very closely,” Meng said. “This forum will provide outstanding analysis and reaction by leading experts on what it means and what might come of it, particularly as it relates to the future of Iran’s nuclear weapons program.

The discussion will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 7 at the Forest Hills Jewish Center, located at 106-06 Queens Blvd.
