Law Enforcement Unions Back Vallone in Race for Halloran's Seat

Benevolent associations throw their weight behind Flushing attorney.

Paul Vallone picked up endorsements this week from three law enforcement unions in his bid for Councilman Dan Halloran's seat.

Vallone, a Flushing-based attorney and brother of Councilman Peter Vallone Jr., received nods from the New York City Correction Officers' Benevolent Association, Lieutenants Benevolent Association and Fire Marshals Benevolent Association.

"Receiving these prestigious endorsements is a tremendous honor for me," Vallone said. "Public safety is at the forefront of my priorities and it is one of the most pressing concerns for the people of northeast Queens."

Vallone was recently endorsed by the Queens County Democratic Party.

He will face off against community activist Paul Graziano, former Halloran chief of staff Chrissy Voskerichian, former state Assemblyman John Duane and Austin Shafran, who formerly worked for Empire State Development.
