Last Chance: Primary Voter Registration

The deadline to register for state and local races is Aug. 17.

This Friday is the deadline to register for the Sept. 13 state and local primary elections in New York State. Here are some important information for those who have not yet registered.

Mail Registration

Your application must be postmarked no later than Aug. 17 and received by the Board of Elections no later than Aug. 17 to be eligible to vote in state and local primaries.

Register In Person

You may register at your local board of elections or any state agency participating in the National Voter Registration Act on any business day throughout the year. To be eligible to vote in the primary, your application must be received no later than Aug. 17.

Change of Address

Notices of change of address from registered voters received by Aug. 24 by a county board of elections must be processed and entered in the records in time for the primary.

Friday is also the last day for absentee ballot registration for presidential primaries.
