Young girls performing Lady Gaga, summer safety tips from the police and more.
On Wednesday evening, Patch attended the June meeting of the Clinton Democratic Club. We tweeted vigilantly throughout the meeting, including the portions from the police on how to keep your home, your car and yourself safe this summer.

7:11 p.m.: A handful of teen girls are playing an acoustic rendition Lady Gaga's Bad Romance. Too bad there's no room to dance.
7:14 p.m.: Now they're singing Katy Perry w/ the addition of a violin. This may be the cutest thing I have ever seen.
7:16 p.m.: The crowd claps along. Passersby are stopping to look in. Move along people. There is no room in here.
7:16 p.m.: DA Brown just arrived, almost had to crowd surf in.
7:26 p.m.: DA Brown says he was very happy to see the kids singing. Though sadly he missed the Lady Gaga portion.
7:27 p.m.: 78,000 arrest cases were handled by the DA's office last year.
7:30 p.m.: DA Brown says his office works side by side with the police department. "It makes it possible for us to do our job" he said.
7:35 p.m.: Police encourage residents with iPhones to download phone locator app, in case it gets stolen.
7:36 p.m.: If you have a GPS in your car, be sure to lock your doors. Or, you know, even if you don't have a GPS.
7:37 p.m.: And if you want to keep your rims, get locking lug nuts. It will slow burglars down.
7:39 p.m.: When you leave your house, keep the TV on so it sounds like someone is home. Not good for the environment, but good for security.
7:41 p.m.: What not to do: don't get physically involved with a suspicious person. Get what info you can from a safe distance, and call the cops.
7:49 p.m.: Capt. Leyson gives the 111th Precinct crime rundown. We'll give you the stats tomorrow.
7:50 p.m.: Long story short, crime is down this year. No murders, no rapes, little violence.
7:51 p.m.: But, lots of strong arm cell phone robberies. Mostly rapscallion kids.
7:54 p.m.: There's a rash of bank involved fraud in 111th precinct. Identity theft type stuff.
7:58 p.m.: If someone suspicious looking asks you for the time, best not to whip out your smart phone. That's how robbery happens.
8:01 p.m.: If you want to get in touch with a 111th precinct community affairs officer, call (718) 279-5295.
8:09 p.m.: Sounds like this meeting is wrapping up. Thanks for tuning in, Little Neck!
