After the urging of numerous local civic and community leaders, and after consulting with his family and friends, long time northeast Queens Civic Leader and Community Board Chair, Jerry Iannece is announcing that he is launching an exploratory committee to run for the newly created open 25th Assembly District seat.
“I am flattered and humbled by the shear volume of calls from local elected officials, civic and community leaders and activists who have all urged me to run for the 25th Assembly seat.
The 25th AD is a perfect fit!!!! It takes in over 90% of Bayside Hills, where I have lived for over 20 years. It is where my kids grew up and went to school, where I served as a little league coach and were I got my start as a civic leader. It takes in a very large part of my community board, where I have had the honor and privilege to serve as Community Board Chair for over a decade; spear-heading and initiating countless projects, solving difficult problems and addressing issues which had a significant and profound impact upon our community and residents. And it is where I have run a small store front law practice on the service road of the LIE in the Flushing/Fresh Meadows area since 1990, helping countless people with their legal issues and problems.
I have lived and actively volunteered and worked in virtually every part of this district for well over 2 decades. The record shows that I have dedicated my life to the betterment of this community. I am excited about the proposition of representing my friends and neighbors of this district in Albany and continuing the work that I did as a parent, friend, little league coach, former prosecutor, civic leader and community board chair.”
