IRS Owes $$ to 15 Baysiders

Check the list to see if you're one of the lucky 15

The IRS is looking for the 15 Baysiders (named below) who — for a change— they actually own money to.

A combined $23.9 million in refund checks to be distributed to 9,662 New Yorkers never got to those taxpayers because of mailing errors.

"We want New Yorkers to get this money as soon as possible," said IRS spokeswoman Dianne Besunder.

Undelivered refund checks for city taxpayers averages at $2,471 this year, according to the IRS. Some are even owed more than one payment.

Don't fall for any funny stuff though: The IRS doesn't contact taxpayers through email to alert them of owed refunds — only scammers do. The agency urges people not to give away any personal information, or even reply to emails claiming to be from them.
