Goldes to Become Communications Director for Meng

Longtime spokesman for Rep. Gary Ackerman to transition to Rep.-elect Grace Meng's staff in new year.

U.S. Rep. Gary Ackerman’s longtime communications director will hold the same position for newly elected Congresswoman Grace Meng.

Jordan Goldes said he will be Meng’s communications director when the U.S. Rep.-elect takes office next year.

He has long been the spokesman for Ackerman, D-Bayside, who announced earlier this year that he would retire, rather than run for the newly created Sixth District congressional seat.

“I cannot be more thrilled about this new and exciting opportunity,” Goldes said about his appointment.

Meng, who defeated Councilman Dan Halloran in the Nov. 6 race for Ackerman’s seat, has not yet announced in which Queens community her district office will be located.
