Flushing Town Hall to Host Queens BP Race Forum
Event co-sponsored by Bayside Historical Society will take place on Aug. 26.
The Queens Historical Society will host a candidates forum for the Queens borough president race on Aug. 26.
The forum will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Flushing Town Hall, located at 137-35 Northern Blvd.
Candidates expected to attend include Councilman Peter Vallone Jr., D-Astoria, former state Assemblywoman Melinda Katz, Everly Brown and Tony Arcabascio.

State Sen. Tony Avella, D-Bayside, announced Wednesday that he was dropping out of the race.
The theme of the forum will be neighborhood preservation.

Those interested in attending the forum should RSVP by calling the historical society at 718-939-0647, ext. 17, because the site has limited space for seating.
The forum’s sponsors include Flushing Town Hall, Queens Historical Society, Voelker-Orth Museum and the Bayside Historical Society.
