FEMA Aid Deadline Extended For Those Affected By Hurricane Sandy
City residents have until March 29 to file claims.
The deadline to register for federal disaster assistance has been extended to March 29 for those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
Previously, the Federal Emergency Management Agency had set the deadline for Feb. 27.
Federal disaster assistance for individuals and families can include money for rental assistance, essential home repairs, personal property losses and other serious disaster-related needs not covered by insurance.

Additionally, a 30-day extension for individuals and businesses applying to the Small Business Administration for lowered-interest loans has been granted. SBA applications are available online by clicking here.
Individuals may register online or via smartphone or tablet at FEMA's website.
