The council will honor Queens Borough President Helen Marshall and two others with Awards for Outstanding Service at an annual installation and awards reception luncheon. The NEQJCC will also install its members to office, including council President Jack Friedman, who will begin his third term. Honors will be bestowed on Chair of Zoning Committee Mark Werpin and former 26th District Assembly Member Ann Margaret Carrozza, an elder law attorney. During the ceremony, the Rivka Fox Youth Award will be presented to recipients Danielle Schaefer and Andrea Gavora.
The NEQJCC members include Executive Committee Chairman Corey B. Bearak; President Jack Friedman; First Vice President Helene Zaro; Second Vice President Ethel Levine; Third Vice President Corinne Steel; Treasurer Dennis Novick; Secretary Marilynne Vogel. The Trustees are Eddie Harap; Dr. Steven Goodman; Jeffrey Gurdus; and Ron Shafran.
