Democratic Committee Elects District Leader for Northeast Queens

Rebecca Lynch serves on the board of the Samuel Field Y and Alley Pond Environmental Center.

The Queens County Democratic Committee has picked a Glen Oaks resident who sits on the board of Alley Pond Environmental Center and the Samuel Field Y to be a district leader for northeast Queens.

This week, the committee elected Rebecca Lynch as the district leader for state Assemblyman David Weprin’s, D-Little Neck, 24th District, Part B.

Lynch, who is replacing long-time Democratic district leader Honey Miller, works with labor unions and community organizations as well as sits on the board of Little Neck's Samuel Field Y and the Douglaston environmental center.

She is also the labor caucus chair of the Queens County Young Democrats. Her mother, Bernice Siegal, is a Queens Supreme Court justice.

The 24th Assembly District covers Douglaston, Little Neck, Bayside, Bellerose, Floral Park, Fresh Meadows, New Hyde Park, Holliswood, Queens Village, Hollis, Oakland Gardens and Glen Oaks.
