CB 11 to Hold Fall's First Meeting on Sept. 9

Group will discuss an airplane noise resolution and Fiscal Year 2015 priorities.

Community Board 11 will hold its first meeting of the fall on Sept. 9 in Bayside.

The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. at M.S. 158, located at 46-35 Oceania St.

During the meeting, the board will discuss capital and expense budget priorities for the city’s Fiscal Year 2015 budget as well as solicit input from the community for which local projects should be funded.

Samantha Kahn, of the Center for Health, Environment and Justice, will conduct a presentation on a campaign to make city schools greener and healthier.

There will be a committee report on a bill that would require the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to conduct a noise and land use compatibility study in the wake of constant airplane noise over northeast Queens during the past year.

To take part in the meeting’s public participation portion, speakers must register with CB 11 District Manager Susan Seinfeld no later than Sept. 6.
