CB 11 to Hear Presentations on Fire Safety, Composting at January Meeting

Board will also vote on its leadership for 2014.

Community Board 11 will hear presentations by the city’s Fire Department and a Queens-based compost project during its Jan. 6 meeting.

The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. at M.S. 158, located at 46-35 Oceania St. in Bayside.

During the meeting, CB 11 will hold its elections to determine who will lead the board in 2014. Chairman Jerry Iannece will be stepping down from his leadership position due to term limits.

The FDNY Safety Division will discuss home fire safety education initiatives with the board during the meeting.

And the NYC Compost Project, which is hosted by the Queens Botanical Garden, will also give a presentation.
