NY-6 Candidates Take To YouTube

Councilman Dan Halloran and Dr. Robert Mittman produced campaign videos.

Following the release of a 2 minute 49 second campaign video by , released his own campaign video this week.

Halloran opened by noting that his family has been in Queens for "more than five generations," and that Queens is the "only home [he's] ever known."

Halloran also said that local business owners "pay for Washington's pet projects," and that New Yorkers pay "a lot more than just that," including New York City, State and Federal income tax, as well as property tax, gas, water and sewer tax, and that "we're the most taxed people in the United States—and now we're going to pay for Obamacare."

Doctor Robert Mittman is running in next week's on a platform of by overhauling the Dept. of Defense budget.

"I was born an raised in Bayside, I went to public school here, and I graduated from Queens College before going to medical school," said Mittman, adding, "I decided to run for the United States Congress because I can see that the government is no longer working in the best interest of the people...I am here to offer a prescription for a healthy economy."

The local, fresh fruit and vegetable market was a worthwhile addition to Douglaston. Obviously, itRead More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.

Unfortunately, according to the Douglas Manor Association, the fresh fruit and vegetable market willRead More NOT return this year. No specific reason was given other than this was at the initiative of the merchants or the market's organizers. And this..., just as we were beginning to enjoy the Long Island wines and the $34 per pound skirt steak, ordered two months in advance.
