Braunstein Kicks Off Valentines for Vets Drive

Gift drive will be held with former Assemblywoman Ann-Margaret Carrozza, who began holiday collection 17 years ago.

State Assemblyman Edward Braunstein, D-Bayside, and former Assemblywoman Ann-Margaret Carrozza are kicking off their annual Valentines for Vets drive this week.

Carrozza has sponsored the drive for 17 years in northeast Queens.

Those interested in donating should bring cards, candy, toiletries or new clothing, such as pajamas, robes, slippers and socks.

“It would mean a great deal to our hospitalized and disabled heroes if you would choose to be their valentine by donating candy or cards with a message of appreciation,” Carrozza said.

The deadline to make donations is Feb. 12. For further information, call Braunstein’s office at 718-357-3588 or Carrozza’s law office at 718-224-4746.

Gifts can be dropped at Braunstein’s office, located at 213-33 39th Ave., Suite 238, or Carrozza’s office, located at 213-38 40th Ave.

They can also be left at William Duke’s office, located at 35-01 202nd St., or Community Board 11, located at 46-21 Little Neck Parkway.
