State Sen. Tony Avella, D-Bayside, and state Assemblyman Edward Braunstein, D-Bayside, will host a town hall on March 14 to discuss the ongoing airplane noise over northeast Queens.
Community leaders and residents have been complaining since last summer of constant airplane noise over Bayside and Douglaston following the implementation of a new flight route out of LaGuardia Airport.
Avella has held two rallies protesting the flight pattern and elected officials representing northeast Queens met with the Federal Aviation Administration earlier this year to discuss the issue.
The town hall will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Bay Terrace Jewish Center, which is located at 13-00 209th St.
Residents will be given an opportunity to voice their concerns about the flight pattern during the meeting. The FAA will attend the town hall.
