Assembly Passes Rozic's MTA Safety Report Bill

Legislation would require agency to provide annual reports on attacks, injuries and other safety related issues.

The state Assembly has passed Assemblywoman Nily Rozic’s bill requiring the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to release annual safety annual reports.

The legislation would require the MTA to provide reports on attacks, injuries or deaths in connection with its facilities.

“The system serves a population of 15.1 million people and each of the customers and employees deserve to have safe commutes and working conditions,” Rozic said. “By reporting instances of danger to MTA employees, passengers and other non-passengers, the MTA can establish a means for effective policy to remediate such hazards to such people.”
