Woman Killed After Being Struck by Bus in Oakland Gardens: Police

Police have not yet released the name of the victim.

A 55-year-old woman died after being struck by a bus in Oakland Gardens just after 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening, police said.

The woman, whose name has not yet been released, was hit by the rear portion of a QM3 bus as it made a left-hand turn onto Springfield Boulevard from 73rd Avenue in Oakland Gardens, according to police.

She was transported to Long Island Jewish Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
