Third Series of Car Break-Ins Carried Out In Douglas Manor

Nothing was stolen from the vehicles, which were broken into on Monday night, 111th Precinct spokesman says.

Cars in Douglas Manor were broken into for the third time in two months earlier this week, no items were stolen from the vehicles, a spokesman for the said.

The incident, which occurred Monday night on Ridge Road, follows the in late June and another incident in early May during which along the parkway and stole personal items.

Late last month, the 111th Precinct as a means to chase away thieves.

A spokesman for the precinct said no items were stolen during this week's break-ins.

"Nothing was stolen," he said. "It looks like it was vandalism. Somebody did it maliciously."

The is asking that community residents call security at 718-423-0311 or the police if they hear a car alarm in the middle of the night.

The association is also calling on residents who live near the 300 blocks of Hollywood Avenue, Ridge Road or Park Lane to check their security videos for suspicious activity between 1 a.m. on 5 a.m. on July 17.

Residents near the 200 block of Ridge Road are being asked to check their videos between the same hours on July 24.
