Thieves Target Two Homes In North Hills Estates
More than $29K in jewelry stolen in one of two recent burglaries on 60th Avenue in Little Neck
A burglar broke into a Little Neck home on 60th Avenue last week and stole more than $29,000 worth of jewelry, police said.
The thief entered the home through the basement window and took jewelry from the house's office and master bedroom on Nov. 24 between 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., police said.
The total estimated cost of the stolen items was $29,100, police said.

Judy Cohen, president of the North Hills Civic Association, said the incident was one of two recent break-ins on the same block.
"This is not uncommon," she said. "Periodically, we do have burglaries."

Cohen sent a notice to neighbors to warn them to keep their windows closed and alarms on.
No arrests have been made, police said.
