An emotionally disturbed man was shot and killed by police on Thursday night after refusing to drop a knife he had used to stab himself and a woman, according to an NYPD spokesman.

Police received a call at around 8:30p.m. to 61-47 223rd Place, just blocks from the Cardozo High School campus, about a suicidal man who was stabbing himself in a front courtyard. When officers arrived, they saw that a 51-year-old female victim had been stabbed in the neck and chest as well.
