Douglaston Firefighters took a few moments on a chilly Saturday to bask in the warmth of their families, with a Christmas party for their children.
Santa made a dramatic entrance from the roof of the firehouse at 44-01 244th St., riding the basket of Ladder 164, which along with Engine 313 was fortuitously outside for a little cleaning and inspection.
This left room for the kids and moms to get a peek at where their Bravest live and work - even on Christmas Day - to keep the rest of us safe.

They were greeted with an inflatable snowman, refreshments and a chance for some photos.
