A Rockville Centre woman faces vehicular manslaughter charges after she drove drunk and crashed into a parked tractor trailer and killed a passenger from Bayside, according to Nassau County Police.

Cops said Asya Ulmer, 21, of Rockville Centre, was drunk at the wheel of a 2000 BMW when she struck a parked tractor trailer at 5:50 a.m. Sunday. Ulmer was traveling north on North Center Avenue near Meehan Street when the collision occurred, police reported.

Jennifer Alexis, 21, of Bayside, was in the front passenger seat of the tractor trailer at the time of the crash, cops said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.

Ulmer was rushed to South Nassau Community Hospital by the Rockville Centre Fire and Police Departments after complaining she was in pain, police said.

Cops charged Ulmer with second-degree vehicular manslaughter and driving while under the influence. She will be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
