Police Search for Missing Bayside Siblings

Brother and sister were last seen on July 24.

The NYPD is searching for two Bayside siblings who have been missing since Tuesday, police said.

Carelyn Minaya, 12, and Miguel Minaya, 11, were last seen around 3:30 p.m. on July 24 at their Bayside home on 214th Street.

Police said it appears the children ran away from home.

Carelyn was last seen wearing a blue and beige shirt with blue jeans and black sandals, while Miguel was wearing a black polo shirt with black and white shorts.

Anyone with information should call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS or submit tips to its website.

Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.
