Pedestrian Struck On Little Neck Parkway

Car hits woman near at-grade train crossing

An unidentified woman was hit Friday morning by an automobile at an at-grade train crossing near the intersection of Little Neck Parkway and 39th Avenue, witnesses confirmed. 

One of the witnesses at the scene, an attendant at a parking lot adjacent to the Little Neck Long Island Railroad station, said the woman suffered minor injuries and was rushed to the hospital "as a precaution."

LIRR temporarily suspended service along the Port Washington line while emergency services responded to the scene.

As of 9:45 a.m., trains going in both directions were running with no reported delays.
