"We don't think it's the same guy[s]," said Lieutenant Dan Heffernan, adding, "We think there might be a Nassau connection with that," referring to the salon robbery.

Two suspects are also being sought for the located at 221-28 Horace Harding Expy.

While there has been an increase in similar crimes compared to the same period in 2009, there is typically an increase in robberies during the onset of winter.

"It's the haves and the have-nots," said Heffernan. "The have-nots feel left out and they have to have."

This year there have been 11 compared to four robberies last year in the same 28-day span last year, according to Heffernan. "These armed robberies are definitely a concern to us. Captain Leyson is all over it."

An arrest was made in September in connection with a string of heists in the area.

Four suspects were earlier this month on charges stemming from a citywide spate of at least 20 robberies in Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx, including an incident at the earlier-hit Bayside 7-Eleven, located at 202-15 Northern Blvd.

The 111th pct. is focusing efforts on stores opened late along Northern Blvd. and the Horace Harding Expy.
