A man fixing a boiler in a residential basement was injured in an explosion near the , according to Con Edison workers on the scene.
The minor explosion at approximately 6:30 p.m., which one Con Edison investigator said was "just a flash," was caused by a gas leak. The company is now investigating, and will be around the clock.
Houses near the explosion at 28-29 209th Place, are not in any danger, according to the same source.
