Residents from Oakland Gardens, Bellerose and Great Neck were among 19 people arrested in a trademark counterfeit ring bust, the Queens district attorney said.

Police dismantled four organized trademark counterfeit rings based in Queens on Wednesday and the defendants were arraigned before Queens Supreme Court Justice Richard Buchter.

The groups allegedly imported and sold counterfeit brand name apparel and other items from China to wholesale buyers throughout the United States and the Virgin Islands, Queens DA Richard Brown said. A total 19 defendants are currently in custody. Read on.

Man Charged with Attempted Murder Following Stabbing

A Glen Cove man is charged with attempted murder following a stabbing Thursday morning, say Glen Cove Police.

The stabbing was reported around 7 a.m. at 188 Glen Cove Avenue. When police arrived, they found a 55-year-old man in a bedroom bleeding from multiple stab wounds to his chest and arms. He was rushed to the hospital by Glen Cove EMS.

Glen Cove Police Detective Glennon was able to quickly establish a suspect. Ashton Bellamy, 27, was arrested later that day and charged with attempted Murder, first degree robbery, third degree criminal possession of a weapon and first degree assault. Read on. 

Deli Owner Charged After Detaining Teen

A Sea Cliff deli owner is facing criminal charges after detaining a teen who turned out to be part of a police operation.

According to a report by CBS 2, Arata’s Delicatessen owner Ron Collura called 911 while detaining a 17-year-old after refusing to sell him cigarettes. Collura said he felt the teen and another man were colluding to rob his store. 

Collura claims that only when police arrived did the man reveal his ID and explain that the pair were Nassau County Health Department inspectors on an underage cigarette operation, according to the report. Read on.


Woman Accused in $10K Heist in Hicksville

A Levittown woman is accused of stealing cash and jewelry valued at about $10,000 from a Hicksville home where she was employed.

Nassau County detectives said Nicole Hamm, 23, was working as a telemarketer at a residence on Picture Lane in Hicksville Monday when she entered a bedroom and removed cash and assorted jewelry from a dresser drawer. The total take was about $10,000. Following an investigation, Second Squad detectives recovered several pieces of jewelry belonging to the victim at S & D Gold Buyers on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown.
