Crime Up Slightly in 111th Precinct in June

But overall crime for the year is down in northeast Queens.

Crime rose slightly in the 111th Precinct in June, despite the number of incidents dropping in three of the seven major crime categories, according to police statistics.

Crime for the month was up 1.7 percent, but overall crime for the year was down four percent.

There were no murders or rapes in the precinct in June and there have not been any homicides within its confines in 2013 so far.

Robbery was down slightly this month from three incidents in June 2012 to two incidents during the same period of time this year.

There were six felony assaults in June 2012, but there were none this past month.

And the number of grand larceny auto incidents fell from eight in June last year to four during the past month.

But the number of burglaries were up from 15 incidents in June 2012 to 20 this past month.

And there were 30 grand larceny incidents last month as opposed to 26 during the same period of time last year.

The 111th Precinct covers Bayside, Douglaston and Little Neck.
