Crime Up 33 Percent in 111th Precinct in November

The number of grand larceny incidents, burglaries and stolen cars were on the rise this past month.

Crime rose 33 percent in the 111th Precinct in November with increases in three of the seven major crime categories, according to police statistics.

There were no murders or rapes in the precinct this past month and the number of felony assaults was down from six incidents during November 2012 to three incidents last month.

Robbery was also down from nine incidents during the same amount of time in 2012 to five incidents this past month.

But the number of burglaries was up from 22 incidents in November 2012 to 25 last month.

Grand larceny was on the rise, from 26 incidents during the same amount of time in 2012 to 47 incidents this past month.

And grand larceny auto incidents were up from three stolen cars during November 2012 to eight last month.

Overall crime for the year is currently up six percent.

Police statistics only covered the month through Nov. 17.

The 111th Precinct covers Bayside, Douglaston and Little Neck.
