Crime Up 33 Percent for September in 111th Precinct

The number of incidents in three of the seven major crime categories saw increases.

Crime rose 33 percent in September in the 111th Precinct with increases in three of the seven major crime categories, according to police statistics.

There were no murders or rapes last month in the precinct, but the number of felony assaults was up from two incidents during September 2012 to seven in the past month.

And robberies rose from five incidents during the same month in 2012 to 10 incidents this past September.

Grand larceny was also on the increase, from 28 incidents in September 2012 to 39 incidents reported during the past month.

But grand larceny auto was down from four incidents during the same period of time in 2012 to three incidents last month.

And burglary dropped from 18 incidents in September 2012 to 17 incidents during the past month.

Overall crime for the year is up four percent.

The 111th Precinct covers Bayside, Douglaston and Little Neck.
