Crime Down In 111th Precinct
Incidents down 3 percent from last 28-day period, police said
Northeast Queens residents might be able to sleep a little bit sounder tonight knowing that crime in the area is down 3 percent.
Even more impressive, the 111th Precinct is down 16 percent in crime levels so far this year, according to Lt. Dan Heffernan of the New York Police Department.
The measures crime in 28-day cycles, the last one running from Feb. 28 to March 27.

In a recent arrest, two suspects were apprehended by police and charged with grand larceny.
Two males near the intersection of Horace Harding Expressway and Springfield Boulevard grabbed an Apple iTouch from a young female victim on March 23, Heffernan said.

The victim, described by police as younger than 15 years old, identified the alleged perpetrators, leading to the arrest.
