Nassau County Police have arrested a Bayside man in connection with a carjacking on Monday in a Home Depot parking lot on Hempstead Turnpike.
According to police, the victim was sitting in his Dodge Caravan near the Home Depot parking lot when a man opened the passenger door, entered and demanded the victim's wallet.
The victim tried to exit the car and then a struggle ensued, resulting in both men falling to the ground, police said.
The suspect then stole the victim's wallet and car keys and fled the scene in the stolen vehicle eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike, authorities said.
Rickey Emmons, 34, of Bayside was charged with robbery and was scheduled to be arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
