Auto Accident Backs Up Afternoon Traffic

A car slamming into a guardrail of the L.I.E. near Exit 32 sends one passenger to the hospital

Both right lanes heading west on the Long Island Expressway were briefly closed at 2 p.m. Friday after a car hit a guardrail near the Little Neck Parkway exit. 

One passenger was rushed to the hospital with unknown injuries, according to an employee of the Apple Towing Company. 

By 3 p.m. the car was removed and the two right lanes headed westbound were reopened.
