Armed Robbery At Area Gas Station

An armed robber made off with an unknown amount of cash in a late afternoon incident at the Mobil service station at 244-05 Northern Blvd. in Douglaston.

A Mobil employee, Harvir Singh, said the robber pulled a gun on a cashier at 5 p.m. Friday, forcing him to lay down on the floor behind the counter while the gunman took money out of the register. 

The station closed for approximately an hour while detectives from the 111th Precinct investigated the scene, according to Singh. 

The cashier, who Singh described as a male in his 20s, was not injured.
