111th Precinct Warns of Car Break-ins, Burglaries

A precinct spokesman said thieves have recently been stealing belongings from cars in northeast Queens.

The 111th Precinct is warning northeast Queens residents to not leave personal belongings in their vehicles following a recent rash of car break-ins.

A spokesman for the precinct said the thieves had been targeting cars in which the owners had left their wallets or pocketbooks.

“People are leaving their credit cards and belongings in the car,” he said. “Most of the break-ins were a little north of Northern Boulevard and near 26th Avenue.”

Additionally, police are investigating a few burglaries that took place south of Northern Boulevard and near Utopia Parkway and Queensborough Community College.
