What're You Reading For Read Across America Day?

Reading is RAAD.

Celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday March 2 by joining book lovers and your local school and public library for Read Across America day.

This year, the National Education Association, a group of more than 3.2 million educators who work to improve public schools, is calling on book lovers around the nation to take up The Lorax, the popular Dr. Seuss children's book published in 1971 about the lovable creature who fights to save the environment.

The and branches of the Queens Library don't have any events scheduled for RAAD this year, but Patch is observing it.

We want you to share what you're currently reading in our comments section, or on the Read Across America pledge site.  NEA and Lorax' publisher, Random House, also have lesson plans and lots of other materials, resources and printable activities for teachers, parents and kids
