It was a busy week for news in northeast Queens.  

Community Board 11 voted down a proposal from the city’s School Construction Authority to build a new school along 48th Avenue in Bayside, although the City Council ultimately has the final say.  

Then, Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott chided CB 11 Chairman Jerry Iannece in a letter after SCA representatives were threatened after the board’s meeting. And a Bayside man was arrested on assault charges in a Long Island incident.

Monday
A Bayside man was arrested after allegedly hitting another man with his car on Long Island. Reviews in This Week at the Movies included “Iron Man 3,” “Something in the Air” and “Post Tenebras Lux.”  

Tuesday
CB 11 votes down the SCA’s proposal to build a new Bayside school on 48th Avenue. At the board’s meeting, residents alleged that Star Nissan was parking cars on sidewalks.  

Wednesday
Avella adds his voice to those opposing the proposed site for a new Bayside school.  

Thursday
