Week in Review

It was a busy week for news in northeast Queens.

Patch interviewed City Council candidate John Duane as well as the owner of a new Douglaston hair and nail salon.

And the State Legislature passed a bill that would require the Port Authority to do a study on the effects of airplane noise on local communities.

Monday

The State Legislature extends legislation proposed by state Assemblyman Edward Braunstein, D-Bayside, that would ban “fake” bath salts. Reviews in This Week at the Movies included “Monsters University,” “World War Z” and “Maniac.”

Tuesday
