It was a busy week for news in northeast Queens.  

The 86th annual Little Neck Douglaston Memorial Day Parade made its way down Northern Boulevard and Bayside’s high schools both made it onto a list of the nation’s best.  

And Patch spoke to Alley Pond Environmental Center’s executive director about a long-awaited upgrade project.

Monday

Thursday
Both of Bayside’s high schools – and three other local schools – were placed on a list of the nation’s 2,000 best. And an M.S. 74 student competed in the Scripps National Spelling Bee for the fourth year in a row.  

Friday

Weekend
Crime dropped in the 111th Precinct in May, according to police statistics.
