This Month in Douglaston

November will see the opening of one market and the closing of another, Douglaston Patch's anniversary, a turkey trot and a wreath-making workshop.

It’s going to be a busy month ahead in Douglaston.

On Nov. 16, will debut its long-awaited 56,000-square-foot store at the Douglaston Plaza Shopping Center.

But as one market opens, another will close for the season. Douglaston’s greenmarket, located in the traffic circle at the neighborhood’s Long Island Rail Road station, will remain open every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Nov. 20.

This coming Sunday, the Douglaston Garden Club will host a at the greenmarket. The free event begins at 11 a.m.

The Douglaston Village Chamber of Commerce is in the process of planning its second annual five-mile for Nov. 24.
