Summer Events in Northeast Queens

July and August events include the 111th Precinct's National Night Out on Crime, the Bayside Anglers' snapper derby and Douglaston Community Day.

The final weeks of the summer are going to be busy in northeast Queens.

Local residents will be able to watch a Native American dance competition, take part in an evening of food and games provided by the 111th Precinct and fish for free at the Bayside Marina.

1. The Queens County Farm Museum is hosting the from July 27 to 29.

Attendees will be able to sample Native American cuisine, such as Navajo tacos and venison, as well as purchase jewelry or crafts. The event will include a dance competition between 40 Indian nations.

2. The 111th Precinct will hold its annual Night Out on Crime from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Aug. 7 at the Douglaston Plaza Shopping Center.

The event will include games for children, raffles, prizes, entertainment, food and refreshments. VIN etching will be available for cars and bicycles.

3. Councilman Dan Halloran, R-Whitestone, will host a forum for Bayside residents to discuss Long Island Rail Road-related issues. The event will take place at 6 p.m. on Aug. 15 at Sullivan’s. The councilman recently .

4. The Bayside Anglers will host its 12th annual Snapper Derby from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 18 at the Bayside Marina. Northeast Queens youths will be able to take part in the catch and release fishing event for free.

5. and the will host a day of food and entertainment to support charities in the community.

The event will be held in front of Strawberry’s, located at 42-15 235th St., and will include raffles and contests, during which attendees could win memorabilia and tickets.
