The Queens County Farm will draw tens of thousands of visitors in September with a motorcycle show and , both of which have been held in northeast Queens for more than three decades.
The 32nd annual Antique Motorcycle Show will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 9, while the 30th annual Queens County Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 22 and 23.
The motorcycle show will display antique bikes in the farm’s apple orchard.
Those interested in registering their bike in the show should show up between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. There is no fee to register.
The show will include various makes and models of motorcycles that have been out of production for at least 10 years.
Fran Erato, a spokeswoman for the farm, said the show draws an estimated 3,000 to 4,000 people.
“It’s set up kind of like a car show,” said Kristin Allocco, another spokeswoman for the farm. “People can walk around and see the bikes. It’s a good opportunity for them to ask questions and talk about motorcycles.”
The event will also include farmhouse tours, hayrides, a petting zoo and food vendors.
Admission for the show is $5 and free parking will be available.
The county fair, which draws an estimated 5,000 to 10,000 from the five boroughs, Long Island and Westchester County, is one of the biggest annual events in northeast Queens, Erato said.
It will include Blue Ribbon competitions in livestock, produce, home crafts, arts and crafts.
Tents at the event will include everything from baking and pickling to maple sugar demonstrations and various animals, such as guinea pigs and rabbits.
Entertainment will include circus acts, big band music, pig racing, creepy critter animal shows and a variety of exhibits.
On Saturday, an Irish band with dancers will perform and, on Sunday, a German band and dancers will play the fair.
Visitors will also be able to tour the farmhouse, where period reenactments and colonial food tasting will be held, and greenhouse, which will be stocked with wines for sale, organic snacks and farm toys.
The farm’s produce stand and petting zoo will be open and hayrides will be available.
The fair will also offer children’s games, such as pie eating and corn-husking contests, and the three-acre Amazing Maize Maze will be open.
Admission is $8 for adults and $5 or children, ages 12 years and below. Free parking will be available.
