Annual event held on June 29 at Bayside Marina.
State Sen. Tony Avella, D-Bayside, and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish's Monsignor Joseph Finnerty took part in the annual "Blessing of the Fleet" at Bayside Marina on June 29.
The event has been held in the community for more than 15 years. During the ceremony, all participating members formed a line, followed the launch boat around the mooring field and passed the dock where the boats were blessed by Finnerty.
