For Which Northeast Queens Event Are You Most Excited?

Cast your vote in Patch's poll on which event in Bayside, Douglaston and Little Neck excites you most.

The summer is winding down, but events in northeast Queens will remain in full swing through the fall.

On Sept. 9, the Queens County Farm Museum will host the 32nd annual and, on Sept. 22 to 23, the farm will provide space for the 30th annual .

will hold its annual festival along 211th Street and 45th Avenue on Sept. 9.

The will host a "step back in time" walk-in weekend at 's Castle on Sept. 16. The workshop will include crafts and other activities for children.

On Sept. 29, will host the annual National Estuaries Day at Little Neck Bay, where visitors will be able to take part in boat rides, games, crafts and demonstrations as well as learn about the environment.

The annual Douglaston Arts Festival will be held in late September at a yet-to-be-disclosed date.

The will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the creation of the Douglaston Historical District on Oct. 13 and 14. The event will include a house tour, walking tour and reception.

And the will host a Halloween festival on Bell Boulevard in late October.

The local, fresh fruit and vegetable market was a worthwhile addition to Douglaston. Obviously, itRead More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.

No specific reason was given other than this was at the initiative of the merchants or the market's organizers. And this..., just as we were beginning to enjoy the Long Island wines and the $34 per pound skirt steak, ordered two months in advance.
