Douglaston Little Neck Library Unveils Roster of July Programs

This coming month, library will host a blues concert, an elder law seminar and a full slate of classes.

The will offer a wide variety of programs in July, including computer basics classes, summer reading events, an elder law seminar and a blues concert.

On July 2, 9 and 30, the library will provide computer basics classes at 10 a.m.

On Mondays, it will offer English conversation classes at 1 p.m. and knitting and crocheting club at 4 p.m.

E-book workshops will take place at 4 p.m. on Wednesdays.

On July 12, Anna’s Book Discussion will be held at 6:30 p.m., while Twilight Tales, during which children will be able to dress in pajamas and hear stories, will begin at 6:30 p.m. on July 19 and 26.

AARP driver safety courses will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on July 6 and 13.

The library will also hold summer reading programs, including Read to a Dog, during which children will read aloud to certified therapy pet partner Jami. Those classes will begin at 2 p.m. on July 17, 24 and 31.

In Dream Big Summer Reading Club, children in grades one through five can read books, participate in crafts, play games, solve puzzles, write reviews and win prizes. That program will be held at 3 p.m. on July 17, 24 and 31.

On July 25, the library will host an intergenerational games program at 3 p.m.

And it will offer two Teen Time programs this month: sewing basics at 3 p.m. on July 20 and mother-daughter book discussion at 3 p.m. on July 27.

There will be two special programs this coming month. On July 23, an elder law seminar will be held at 6:30 p.m. Attendees will discuss aspects of elder law, power of attorney, estate and disability planning with an attorney.

The Million Dollar Quartet concert will take place at 6:30 p.m. on July 30. Veteran blues singer and guitarist Eddie Lee Isaacs will present the music from the Broadway show “Million Dollar Quartet,” in which Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins meet one day at a small Memphis recording studio in 1956.
